QUÉBEC’S TIM TREMBLAY PLANS TO SHINE ON HIS HOME TURF

Release: GRAND PRIX SKI-DOO DE VALCOURT- Valcourt, February 10, 2009 – If there is a year where a local snocross driver may shine in front of his fellow Québec fans and dominate his American and English Canadian opponents at the Grand Prix Ski-Doo de Valcourt, it’s 2009. This native Quebec driver who turned 23 last November, must be Tim Tremblay, a name currently on the lips of anyone following the North Americam snocross scene. A native of Sainte-Jeanne d’Arc, a tiny village located a few kilometres east of Dolbeau in the Lac Saint-Jean area of Québec, the Ski-Doo driver has been simply impressive since early January on the AMSOIL ISOC series courses and is expected to be just as good, the weekend of the championship 6^th leg, February 20, 21 and 22, in Valcourt.

With two wins, two second, a 4^th, a 7^th and a 8^th place finishes since the beginning of the 2008-2099 season, Tremblay is engaged in a fierce battle for Semi Pro Open title against American Christian Salemark, Bobby Lepage and Dan Ebert; and Cory Davis, Dylan Martin and the same Ebert for the Semi Pro Super Stock title. In the Open class, he is currently 3^rd, 15 points behind the leader while he is a strong 2^nd, just 5 points away from the firs rank in Super Stock. If Tremblay maintains his pace at the last meeting before Valcourt, this coming weekend in the Finger Lakes region of New York, he may show up in the World’s snowmobile capital as the leader of both Semi Pro classes.

‘’Everything goes well now. I must thank the team for the hard work. They have been giving me the best possible sled. We are doing a lot of testing and it is well rewarded so far, says the Lac Saint-Jean native who isn’t dissatisfied with the slow start he encountered, his less impressive results having been earned at the two first events in December. Last year I came in not very well prepared. We didn’t do enough testing, it went too fast and I have been injured. My whole season lasted five days. This time, we have taken all the necessary time. We have studied well our machine and personally, I’m in great shape‘’, also said Tremblay.

Yet a veteran of the Canadian motocross scene that he joined in 2003, Tremblay is in his third snocross campaign. In fact, 2008-2009 can be seen as its second since a severe knee injury kept him away from the courses last winter and compromised a good share of his 2008 motocross racing season. A member of the solid Warnert Pro Team, he has fellow Québec native Mathieu Morin, from Val D’Or, as a teammate battling in the Pro classes. In less than two weeks, the 6-foot tall strong and healthy Tremblay will have the opportunity to become the first Quebec driver to win a Pro or Semi Pro Class race on the circuit Yvon Duhamel course since international snocross has been added to the Valcourt winter classic program, ten years ago.

‘’The Valcourt course do not represent a special challenge, it is pretty much the same as elsewhere. But the big

diffference, the great motivation if I can say will be to race in front of my whole family expected to make the trip from Lac Saint-Jean.

Tickets for the 27^th Grand Prix Ski-Doo de Valcourt are currently on sale. Prices range from $10.00 for general admission on Friday, to $130.00 for a weekend access to a heated trackside suite.
