A golf tournament next month will bring back snowmobile racing memories and remember a snowmobile icon. The International Series of Champions Reunion/CJ Ramstad Memorial Golf Classic is set for August 17-18 in Garrison, Minn.
ISOC founder and tournament organizer John Daniels said the event was originally planned to re-unite racers, fans and officials who participated in the cross-country circuit that thrived in the Midwest during the 1990s. Instead, it will pay tribute to the famed snowmobile journalist who was killed in a Minnesota car crash in May.
“CJ was a very big reason I was able to accomplish so many things in the snowmobile world,” said Daniels, who produces television’s Sled Head 24/7. “As the ISOC grew to success even beyond my vision, a huge source of the industry drive was CJ’s support and passion for our circuit.”
In addition to golf, the event will include a Texas Hold ‘Em tournament, ISOC Glory Days Party, live music and stories from cross-country racing legends. Sponsorships and a silent auction will raise money for the CJ Ramstad Memorial Foundation, Daniels said.
