There’s a new guy stalking around the Snow Goer offices, and he brings both riding and writing abilities to the magazine and website.
Nick Longworth, 27, is Snow Goer’s new managing editor, which means he’ll be writing and editing stories, testing sleds and aftermarket gear and generally living and breathing the world of snowmobiles.
Snowmobiles aren’t new to Longworth, however. His first snowmobiling experiences came as a kid, riding in the Park Rapids, Minnesota, area aboard a pair of Yamahas – a 1980 Enticer 250 and, once he got his legs under him, a 1983 340 Exciter. As the years progressed, so did his experience with and variety of sleds, as he spent time on the Northwoods area trails of Itasca, Smokey Hills and Two Inlets with family and friends.
A graduate of St. Cloud State University, he has spent time in community journalism writing for two different newspapers and one magazine company. Most recently, he was a legislative session writer for the House of Representatives Public Information Services. (Insert your own yawn here!)
“I’m excited to return to my roots and pursue stories that involve such a passionate base of snowmobilers,” he said about the switch. “I look forward to hearing our readers’ stories and insight on the industry and sport they love.”
