Want to ride your sled in the backcountry of Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula while helping to raise money for a charity? If so, get to Houghton, Michigan, for the third annual Snowfest Snowmobile Ride In.
Sponsored by JohnDee.com, fans of the snowmobiler-friendly Web site will meet at the Best Western Franklin Square in Houghton February 1-2 for the event. Pre-registration is required.
This year’s ride will raise money for the Make A Wish Foundation, a charity that benefits children who suffer from life-threatening illnesses.
The event will include guided snowmobile tours through the Keweenaw backcountry. A banquet and live entertainment are also scheduled.
Riders must register by January 25 to attend the banquet, but non-registered snowmobilers may show up and join the ride.
