Hibbert Wins Again! This Time For Make-A-Wish Charity

Tucker Hibbert has earned a lot of trophies in his time racing snocross, but the one from the Make-A-Wish Minnesota group is extra special.

Tucker Hibbert may have hung up his snocross racing uniform, but he hasn’t given up competing in — and winning at — things for which he has a strong passion.

Indeed, the recently retired snowmobile racing superstar and his promotion-savvy wife Mandi ramped up the Team 68 effort for the 2018 Make-A-Wish Minnesota Walk For Wishes event, stoked the enthusiasm of friends, followers and fans and ended up being the event’s top fundraiser for the third year in a row!

In fact, Hibbert’s team raised $12,534 in donations — or about 15 percent of the event’s total take of $88,500 for the local Make-A-Wish foundation, which grants wishes for children with critical illnesses. That was more than double what the second place team raised.

The 5k walk/run was held at Minneapolis’ Minnehaha Park Saturday, August 4, under rumbling skies that may have scared off some participants, but not Team 68.

“I’m blown away by how generous everyone has been and how awesome this year’s Walk for Wishes went,” Hibbert said. “Every year it keeps getting better and even with bad weather in the forecast, a lot of loyal people showed up to support Make-A-Wish Minnesota and have some fun. We had a good time together and raised a lot of money to help grant wishes.”

Tucker and Mandi

Mandi and Tucker Hibbert were recognized on the Make-A-Wish social media page for their incredible fund raising efforts.

Hibbert’s informal affiliation with Make-A-Wish goes back many years, but he has been particularly active in the Walk For Wished the past three years. The Team 68 has raised nearly $34,000 since 2016. With Mandi doing a lot of the ever-so-friendly arm-twisting, the duo reached out to many in the snowmobiling community as a part of the fund raising effort, and the results are seen on the Team 68 giving page which shows a who’s who of folks in the snowmobile and racing industries that supported the Team 68 effort.

The Team 68 fundraising page will stay open through Friday, August 17. Hibbert will honor every contribution of $20 or more with a Team 68 Walk for Wishes t-shirt. For more information and to make a donation, visit site.wish.org/goto/Team68.
