New Hampshire Snowmobile Association Hosts Snow Show Featuring Grass Drags, Watercross

The New Hampshire grass drags and watercross event held in Fremont, New Hampshire, is considered by many sledheads in the Northeast to be an unofficial kick-off to the upcoming snowmobile season. This year the annual event was held Oct. 5-7, with more than 40,000 spectators attending the racing events, flea market and vendor display offerings.

More than 100 vendors presented the latest and greatest in manufacturer offerings. Adding to the attractions, the event is surrounded by helicopter rides providing an aerial tour of scenic fall colors, along with various forms of motorsport racing, grass drags, snowmobile watercross, freestyle exhibitions and lawnmower racing.

The event is the largest fundraiser for the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association (NHSA), an association of independent clubs maintain the statewide interconnected trail system. Volunteers are a key component of the weekend activities and find the event a great opportunity to bring friends and families together to promote the sport.

Snow Goer reader and snowmobiling enthusiast Jim Shepka was kind enough to share some shots of the weekend with us. If you’re in the area next year, be sure to stop by and begin your season with some fun!
