USSA And ProStar Cup Release Impressive Schedules

What started as a smallish schedule for the USSA ProStar Series and related ProStar Cup has built into a rather full lineup for this coming winter after several big moves by the host circuit.

The historic USSA circuit that has long been the most prominent circuit in snowmobile oval sprint racing found middle ground with the famed Eagle River facility, stepped up to self-promote/host the event in Wausau, Wisconsin, and now has added yet another stop in Canada to its big Cup points series. It’s going to be a busy winter.

For the uninitiated, the USSA ProStar Series is the “regular” circuit that runs a wide variety of classes at events sanctioned by the USSA circuit. Most are in Wisconsin with one run across the U.P. border.

The ProStar Cup series in a North American points series that’s focused on a couple of classes and includes USSA events as well as events hosted by other circuits. It’s where North American championships are earned. Let’s look at the latest schedules:

ProStar Cup Tour

The ProStar Cup points race will lead the sport’s top racers on a tour of North American, with nine total stops between December and March. In starts and ends in Manitoba, with other stops in Michigan, Wisconsin, Ontario and Quebec, with many big name events along the way.

Here’s the schedule:

January 7-8, Ironwood, Michigan (The Ironwood Snowmobile Olympus)
January 20, Eagle River, Wisconsin (Friday Night Thunder at the Eagle River World Championship)
January 28-29, Wausau, Wisconsin (The Wausau 525)
February 4, Eganville, Ontario (The Bonnechere Cup)
February 11-12, Valcourt, Quebec (The Grand Prix de Valcourt)
February 18-19, Manawa, Wisconsin (Manawa Snodeo)
February 24-25, Eagle River, Wisconsin (The World Series)
March 4-5, Beausejour, Manitoba (the Canadian Power Toboggan Championships)

This is where everything from Champ and Formula sleds to Juniors, F-500 and more, are run, primarily focused on racers in the Upper Midwest.

January 7-8, Ironwood, Michigan

February 24-25, Eagle River, Wisconsin
