CLASSIC VIDEO: 1998 ZR 600, Formula Z 670, SRX and Indy 700

In the year 1997, Titantic was dominating in movie theaters. A cross-section of folks across the globe were mourning the death of Princess Diana. Third Eye Blind’s “Semi Charmed Life” was dominating the rock airwaves.

And an episode of Snow Goer TV was airing on select channels across the Snowbelt, with details on the 1998 sleds we tested the previous spring.

Model year 1998 was a good one. It brought the sweet-sounding Yamaha SRX 700 triple-triple for the muscle sled crowd. This was also when Polaris’ 700 domestic twin made it to Indy XC models for trail riders. Ski-Doo’s 670 H.O. motor adorned select sleds, and Arctic Cat’s ZR line was renewed with a new chassis platform and new front suspension geometry. All of these machines and more were unveiled in the spring of 1997. They were then built and delivered to customers in the fall of 1997.

Relive the fantastic era in snowmobiling by watching the video below. It was snipped from that Snow Goer TV episode from the fall of 1997. Or click through to catch it on YouTube.
