Reader Submissions
Snow Goer magazine is now accepting submissions for articles about snowmobile tours, clubs, and dealers throughout the U.S. and Canada. Send us your best stories along with photographs for a chance to share your passion with the snowmobile world within the pages of Snow Goer.
This page outlines the types of article submissions we accept. Submission link can be found at the bottom of the page.
Featured Tour Editorial Submissions
Featured tour editorial may be considered for print, or used on the Snow Goer website. These are first hand accounts of trips you have personally taken. Take us along for the ride!
- Good writing and photography take precedence at Snow Goer, so don’t forget to upload 20-40 high-resolution photographs. Properly credit the photographer(s) of the shots. It’s best if photos are grouped and labeled by tour day and/or location.
- Photos must be original — no photoshopping!
- Include short captions for every photo you submit inside your text document. Don’t overstate the obvious.
- Word count: Featured tours should be 1000-1200 words.
- Include a GPX file of your tour. We can also accept KML files and tracks as a backup.
- Be descriptive! We want to know about things unique to the area that make this trip special. Tell us all the details, not just that you turned on trail 41 and then turned on trail 9. Give us a good sense of the ride. How did you feel? What were the trails like?
- Previously published articles and photos will not be accepted.
Day Ride Submissions
We are now accepting submissions for day rides! If you have a great ride that can be done in a day, we want to hear about it. Day ride submissions follow a template, which is outlined below.
You should include the following:
- Length: How many miles is this daylong ride?
- Overview: In 250 words, describe the ride. What is special about the route, the trail, the stops along the way. You should also include 1-2 sentences that describe your experience on the ride.
- Lunch Stop: Recommend a place at the half-way spot with name, address, and website. Write a couple sentences about the spot and what patrons can expect at the restaurant.
- Points of Interest: Include 3 points of interest. Describe each with 50 words. Include physical address and website if possible. Points of interest can include scenic overlooks, historical markers, or even unique things you find in the middle of nowhere!
- Include a GPX file of your tour. We can also accept KML files and tracks as a backup.
- Include 3-5 high-res photos.
