First released as an early 2006 model, the Crossfire machines are built on the award-winning M-Series chassis. It’s Arctic Cat’s true hybrid machine, using the best parts from the trail and mountain segments. The result is a versatile machine for boondocking or trail riding, and the Crossfires are at home doing both. The ski stance is adjustable from 42 to 44 inches to suit the application.
The engine choices for 2007 are the same four used in the new F-Series, which means the new 1000 and 800 twins. Those same displacement options also are available in Sno Pro trim with orange graphics and upgraded, stiffer suspensions.
The 136-inch rear skid is wrapped with a 15- by 136- by 1.25-inch track that’s middleground for flotation and trail handling.
Ergonomics are the same on all six versions of the Crossfire, which includes tall handlebars for stand-up riding; a tall, narrow seat for easy transitions; and wide running boards.

800 EFI Laydown:
The 794cc twin is new for 2007 and makes 145 hp. Arctic Cat claims the engine has 26 percent more torque and uses 11 percent less fuel than the 700 engine it replaces. Like the larger 1000 twin, a twin spark plug-head is used to increase the spark energy for a more complete burn while producing efficient combustion at low- and mid-rpm ranges. The engine also has Arctic Power Valves, 3D ignition, 46mm throttle bodies and a knock sensor to prevent detonation.
