Klim, sent us its new insulated jacket. Not only that, but we got it at the end of the season — just in time for warm- weather riding. We tested the jacket in temps near and above the freezing level, but were pleasantly surprised that it seemed to regulate the body’s temperature quite nicely. It’s made with Gore-Tex, and it’s still quality construction. Inside is 200 gram Thinsulate insulation. John Summers, Klim’s marketing guy, said it’s meant for people in the Midwest market who are not keen on the layering concept. It’s also a less expensive route compared to the layers. As for us, we’ll stick to our shells, but folks who can’t part with their insulation have another good choice in garment. www.klimusa.com.
