Arctic Cat reached a special milestone yesterday as a 2011 Crossfire 800 LTD rolled off the assembly line in Thief River Falls, Minn. It marked the 1 millionth snowmobile built there since August of 1983 when snowmobile production restarted after the company was formed under the name Arctco.
“This milestone is heartfelt in several ways … it’s special knowing generations of Arctic Cat enthusiasts have enjoyed our products. These enthusiasts push us to innovate for future generations,” said Arctic Cat CEO Christopher Twomey.
To commemorate the occasion, the historic snowmobile made its way through the assembly line so more than 1,100 employees could sign their name.
The snowmobile will be displayed in the factory lobby for visitors to see and will be placed on several show tours throughout the snowmobile season.
