More power: Who doesn’t want that, especially in cross-country snowmobile racing?! Well that’s what Polaris is promising in a cryptic release of its 2025 600 Indy Cross Country race sled. It also unveiled a lesser-changed 2025 Polaris 600R snocross-focused race sled.
The actual press material from Polaris were rather empty – as you can see in the press release that we share below in its entirety. There is talk of a new engine that makes 8 percent more power, but no details on how it gained that power. An eblast sent viewers to a page featuring videos on the 2024 race sleds, but not much content on the 2025s. Polaris social media post about the race sleds directed viewers to a page where you can see who is on the race team but not a mention of the sleds.
We’re motorheads, folks – we want some real details!
However, after some poking around we did learn a bit more.
Specifically, the Hetteen Heritage race team (and with a name like that, you know they’re tied into the factory) posted this on their social media page:
“Check out the new purpose built 600 Patriot cross country engine with 8% more power, 3 stage electronic EVs, 4 injector setup like the boost, more stator power, smart hand warmers, ability to run 7s gauge, and more – very excited for these upgrades!”
OK, now you really have our attention!
We hope to learn a lot more soon. That said, we didn’t want to delay getting you the info that’s available, plus some photos. Here’s the press release from Polaris:
2025 Polaris Race Snowmobiles Have Arrived and Are Ready to Dominate This Race Season
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – August 21, 2024 – Racing is woven into the DNA and heritage of Polaris snowmobiles and today the company unveils two 2025 Polaris race snowmobiles: the 2025 600 INDY Cross Country and 600R.
“We continue to make investments in our racing program by bringing new technology and innovation to our race sleds. The engineers who support our race sleds also work on our consumer sleds, so often racing influences the features of our snowmobiles you see out on the trails or in the backcountry,” said Jenny Nack, Polaris Snow Vice President and General Manager. “We’re excited to build on the momentum and success of Team Polaris this upcoming winter race season!”
The 2025 Polaris 600 INDY Cross Country is built to dominate cross-country race circuits from the Iron Dog to the I-500. New for 2025 is a 600 Patriot engine, a purpose-built race engine, that provides eight percent more power and a broader power-and-torque curve than the previous engine*. Using the proven Patriot architecture, along with race-specific porting and an injection system that utilizes semi-direct and throttle-body injection, this race sled is set to lead the pack this racing season.
The 2025 600R is set to conquer the toughest SnoCross tracks this season, following Emil Harr’s Pro Championship winning campaign last season with Judnick Motorsports 600R backed by Factory Polaris Racing. For 2025, the 600R has received a few key updates to improve durability on the track.
“After crushing it last season, the Polaris Factory Race teams are gearing up to exceed expectations this year and are thrilled about the fresh upgrades to the Polaris race sled lineup,” said Thomas Rager, Race Manager, Polaris Snow.

Good luck your going to need it if you buy a Polaris, once again I have another recall on my POS polaris, if I would have known this I would have NEVER bought another one , in fact I’ve had more recalls on this one sled more than any other COMBINED, maybe polaris should put more EFFORT into fixing the problems for the people who paid good money for them or buy the JUNK back or replace them for free or at least what people have paid for them on a sled of their choice.
