Looking for some ways to relive the winter that has rapidly come to a close? Check out the photos essays and slide shows we’ve been posting on our sister site, SnowGoerRacing.com.
Late yesterday, we launched a 37-image set from this year’s Snow Goer Great Escape Tour with Decker Tours, which took me and a large group of riders from Eagle River, Wisconsin, to Copper Harbor, Michigan, and back.
Last week, two other great slide shows were posted. The first was by Associate Editor Tom Kaiser, showing some of the stunning scenery experienced on his trip inside Yellowstone National Park aboard a snowmobile. The second was put together by Art Director Randy Kepner, showcasing some of Wayne Davis’ stunning photography of 2011 snowmobile models at our 2011 Rode Reports testing event.
So why are they photo essays on www.snowgoerracing/photos/ and not on this site? Well, frankly, this site isn’t set up well to receive and showcase groups of photos (as witnessed by the layout of this story around the google box!). In the future, you can look for a lot more general information — not just racing — on that site, which will also be renamed. More on that in the future, but for now, go enjoy the slide shows.
And, for those who aren’t ready to give up on the season, as I write this our Managing Editor Andy Swanson is currently in a truck traveling west toward snow for some late-season testing. There’s still riding out there, if you’re willing to spend some truck time to get to it!
