Six drivers won a spot in the final from two last chance qualifier heats for the ISOC Pro Open race. Each race pulled the top three finished for a back-row start in the final.
Both of the Team Yamaha sleds, with drivers Steve Taylor (No. 2) and Ian Hayden (No. 93) aboard, were in the first heat and came off the line toward the front of the pack. Robbie Malinoski, on the No. 4 Ski-Doo, was the early race leader followed by Taylor and Brett Turcotte on the No. 16 Arctic Cat. Turcotte passed Taylor for second and later passed Malinoski for the win. Malinoski finished second.
Arctic Cat driver Garth Kaufman, on the No. 48 Arctic Cat, came from fifth and worked by both Yamaha drivers and took the third and final spot from the first LCQ.
The second LCQ had much less drama. Arctic Cat drivers Carl Schubitzke (No. 6) and Matt Piche (No. 51) rode 1-2 for the race, with Polaris/Team Amsoil driver Shaun Crapo in third for the three transfer spots.
Turcotte was the fastest qualifier from the two LCQ heats and inherited the 10th and final spot in the front row.
