Yellowstone Announces 2019-20 Non-Commercial Snowmobile Guide Program Application Lottery

Have you ever wanted to snowmobile through Yellowstone National Park without the services of a commercially guided tour? This Thursday begins your window of chance for the 2019-20 season.

Started in 2013, through the Non-Commercially Guided Snowmobile Access Program (N-CGSAP) Yellowstone allows one group of up to five snowmobiles each through its North, South, East and West winter entrances per day – trips can be one, two or three days in length, group leaders must be 18 years old by the first day of trip and all snowmobile operators must carry a valid driver’s licenses.

World renowned for is scenery for those willing to brave the cold, most roads in the park are groomed for over-snow traffic via either snowcoaches or snowmobiles. Permits for those interest in the program will be available through a lottery application, from August 1-31, 2019 – any unclaimed or canceled permits will be made available at Recreation.gov on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning on October 1, 2019 (additional trip requirements can be found under the “Need To Know” tab). Interested parties are encouraged to check back often.
