The 25th annual Big East Powersports Show is rapidly approaching, and the event has announced an impressive lineup of speakers at its Snow Goer Clinic seminars. The Big East show, held September 28-30 at the Oncenter in downtown Syracuse, New York, is the annual kickoff to the “countdown to winter” for snowmobilers in the Northeast, who gather throughout the weekend to check out the new sleds, look for great deals on gear and accessories, seek new riding destinations, learn about new products, hang out with other riders and much more.
Tickets for the show are $10 on site, or $8 in advance if purchased online. New this year, youth 12 and under get in free, thanks to sponsorship from Polaris and its Indy EVO snowmobiles.
The Snow Goer Clinic seminars will feature two popular speakers returning to present important information for riders to get the most from their snowmobiles, and two new seminars aimed at entertainment as well as education.
New this year, Chris Riley of the Super Sled Online community will host a live webcast, interviewing famous riders and builders from the high performance go-fast community. Expect Riley’s usual star-studded lineup, plus his informative and irreverent insight and enthusiasm for the world of speed runs, lake racing, drag racing and the incredible machines that people in that fascinating segment of the sport are building.
Also new, Snow Goer will host a live roundtable with officials from snowmobile manufacturers, asking factory officials questions about how they got involved in the snowmobile industry, their favorite designs, the good and most challenging parts of their job and their thoughts on a number of topics. Those in the crowd will also be encouraged to ask their own questions during a Q&A session. At this point, Polaris Product Manager Marty Sampson has committed to participating, and others will be added as the schedule is finalized.
Returning this year is the suspension tuning seminar hosted annually by Ross Benson of Hygear Suspension. Benson’s seminar is always the most popular at the show, with the veteran tuner sharing easy-to-understand suspension setup and shock tuning advice that help riders get a better ride and better handling out of their snowmobiles, no matter the vintage of their sled.
Also back after taking a couple of years off, the personable Ron Pattyn of Stud Boy Traction/Liberty Products returns with his own set of tips that can help active snowmobiles improve the handling of their machine, sharing information on how to find the right sort of traction package and breaking through some of the popular myths and misconceptions.
The Big East Powersports Show runs throughout the Sept. 28-30 weekend in Syracuse, but the Snow Goer Seminars are held on Saturday, September 29.
