Snowmobiler Heath Frisby In Running For ESPN Award

Heath Frisby could win an ESPY award for landing this snowmobile frontflip at the X Games.

Snowmobile freestyler Heath Frisby has advanced through first-round voting in the annual ESPN ESPY awards. In January, Frisby won an X Games gold medal for landing a snowmobile frontflip stunt in the Best Trick category — that trick has made him one of eight finalists for the ESPY Best Play award.

Best Play is a bracket-style vote. The contest is tiered and will require one more round of online voting to put Frisby into the final four. In this round, Frisby is matched against a Mixed Martial Arts move. Surely, that swift leg kick to the side of one hurting guy’s head takes skill, but it can’t match the courage and concentration it took Frisby to successfully front-flip a 400-pound Ski-Doo snowmobile.

The four finalists for Best Play will be revealed on July 9. Voting will remain open through the ESPYS Countdown Show and will close when the show begins next week. So voting now through July 9, and then again on July 10 and 11 will determine the winner. Go here to watch and vote for the Heath Frisby snowmobile frontflip.

The 20th annual ESPY awards show will be July 11 at 9 pm ET on ESPN.
