The 2008 Snowmobile Of The Year was revealed in public for the first time.
Snow Goer magazine’s Snowmobile Of The Year was unveiled for the first time in public at the Haydays Grass Drags and Swap Meet in Columbus, Minn., on September 7.

The covered machine was escorted onto the grounds on top of an antique fire truck, made a loop through the vendor area, and stopped.

When the cover was lifted off the snowmobile, it revealed a 2008 MX Z 600 H.O. SDI X.

Snow Goer editor Tim Erickson used a bullhorn to address the crowd surrounding the fire truck. He said the machine was chosen due to its innovations, particularily in terms of weight and design. The new REV XP chassis offers a significant weight reduction, while maintaining chassis strength. The MX Z 600 H.O. SDI in the REV XP chassis is more than 50 pounds lighter than the same model in the standard REV chassis.

It's the Ski-Doo MX Z 600 H.O. SDI X.
Other innovations on the sled take place in the driveshaft, the brake system and clutching.

Snow Goer’s Top Ten snowmobiles include the Polaris IQ Shift, the Ski-Doo MX Z 800 RX, the Yamaha Phazer RTX, the Arctic Cat Jaguar Z1, the Ski-Doo Summit 800 X 154, the Arctic Cat TZ1 LXR, the Yamaha FX Nytro, the Ski-Doo TNT, the Yamaha Vector GT and the Polaris 700 Switchback Dragon.
