Snowmobile History For Sale In The Snow Goer Store

Some folks might want to read about Jacques Villeneuve’s third World Championship, as it was covered by Snow Week magazine in 1986, while others will want to see first-test reactions of technology unveiled in 2003, like Ski-Doo’s REV chassis, Arctic Cat’s Firecat or Yamaha’s RX-1. Other riders may have struck out after looking everywhere on newsstands for this year’s season’s November issue of Snow Goer – featuring a Maine tour story and Snowmobile Of The Year announcement – and will want to get caught up on a recent issue.

Bottom line: There are many reasons to check out the Snow Goer Store, which was created earlier this year to allow readers to buy pieces of snowmobiling history, shipped directly from the Snow Goer offices.

Currently there are 40 issues and counting of various snowmobile magazines uploaded to the Snow Goer Store website and ready for order. Most issues are of Snow Goer (though some are labeled “Snow Sports” on the cover, signifying that they were the U.S.-based Snow Goer magazine with a Canadian cover on them), but we’ve also dug into our company’s archives to add some special treats.

Among them: A couple of issue of the much-beloved and now-defunct Snow Week magazine from 1986 – Volume 13, issue No. 16, which features complete coverage of that year’s Eagle River World Championship Snowmobile Derby that was claimed by the legendary Jacques Villenueve; and Volume 13, issue No. 18, the season-recap issue that includes our Driver of the Year Award and Top 10 racers from the exciting season on the snow and ice.

Also, there are the 1981 and 1988 Buyer’s Guide editions of the also dearly departed Snowmobile Magazine. Buyer’s Guide issues from day’s gone by are truly treasures, with details and specs on all of the sleds that were available that year, plus frankly paging past the ads that were promoting the sleds at the time is almost half of the fun.

Best yet, the vast majority of the issues we’re selling are in like-new shape because they were some of the archived issues we originally got from the printer — meaning they were delivered to our office in sealed envelops that we’re now just opening to make these issues available.

So, check out the Snow Goer Store, page through what we’ve got up there and see if anything tickles your fancy. Then check back from time-to-time, because we’ll keep adding more historic issues to the site.

Editor’s Note: Every issue of Snow Goer magazine includes in-depth sled reports and comparisons, aftermarket gear and accessories reviews, riding destination articles, do-it-yourself repair information, snowmobile technology and more! Subscribe to Snow Goer now to receive issues delivered to your door 6 times per year for a low cost.
