Snocross Racer Colby Crapo Goes Out On Top

Less than five months after winning the Canadian Snowcross Racing Association (CSRA) Pro Open title, Colby Crapo has announced that he is retiring from snocross racing. 

Crapo — an Idaho native and cousin of the other famous Crapo snocrossers, Jeremy, Kurt and Shaun — has been racing for the Ontario-based Huber Motorsports team on the Rockstar Energy-backed No. 999 Polaris in recent years and focusing on the Canadian circuit, although he has made early-season appearances at races on the U.S.-based ISOC circuit before the CSRA season begins each year.

Though just 27 (he’ll turn 28 on Sept. 15), Crapo has been racing for 16 years, has won points titles ontwo different circuits and competed in X Games finals.

Announcing The Retirement of Colby Crapo

Huber Motorsports is officially announcing that Colby Crapo #999 has decided to retire from Professional Snocross racing.

Colby has been racing snocross for 16 years, racing in the Mid-West Racing series, ISOC and CSRA. Colby won the 2009 MWR Pro High Points Championship and also the 2017 CSRA Pro Open Championship. Colby has ridden for Polaris, Ski-Doo and Arctic Cat throughout his racing career. He has been racing for and associated with Huber Motorsports for the past four years, which includes one year with Boss racing. Colby also raced three years for Leighton Motorsports and also as a privateeer in the early days of his racing career. 

Colby is moving on and getting more actively involved in the family farming business with his wife, Ony. They are also both excited with the anticipated arrival of their first child in January 2018.

“I truly cannot express how grateful I am for all of the people who have helped me over my racing career,” Crapo said. “I have met some of the most amazing people who will now be family and friends for the rest of my life. This has been one hell of a journey and I’ll have some incredible memories. Thanks again to everyone who has helped me throughout my career, none of it would have been possible without all of you!”
