In a surprising move from a brand that hasn’t had many late-release snowmobiles in recent years, Ski-Doo unveiled a Special Edition Summit line on November 20.
The Special Edition Summit Adrenaline with Edge Package snowmobiles will be available in limited quantities with either an 850 E-TEC or 850 E-TEC Turbo R engine in track lengths of 154 or 165 inches. They will also include a special accessories package and unique coloration to further separate them from the “regular” in-season Summit Adrenaline with Edge Package models that were announced last winter.
The biggest news in this latest announcement is the fact that the responsive two-stroke turbo 850 will officially be available in-season for the first time ever. Sleds with that engine have technically only been available to customers who order in the spring, though savvy shoppers have been able to find a few at dealerships in the fall.
These new Special Edition versions will come with a package with five popular accessories, including a tunnel-mounted fuel caddy and glove box extension plus the Deep Snow Ultra Lightweight seat, flexible handguards and adjustable brake lever that are found on the top-level Summit X with Expert Package machines.
The natural aspirated 850 version will be available with a 154-inch track with 2.5-inch lugs or a 165-inch track with 3-inch paddles. The 850 Turbo R spins the 16- by 165- by 3-inch PowderMax X-Light track. The Special Edition machines will feature an alluring carbon black coloration, with deep red spindles and suspension rails.

That is good but no surprise due to poor snow and sled sales of 2023 & 2024.
IMO Very soon we will see some great 700 cc sleds from all manufacturers which will overtake big bore sales if they price them right being many thousands cheaper. This will bring new customers and previous customers back into the sport.
MY2027 will be 30th anniversary of the Indy 700 SKS a very big seller for Polaris. Ski-Doo 670 motor was awesome especially in the S MZX chassis i.e. MZX 670. Arctic Cat is first in the big twin 700 in the ZR 700 (revised from the WildCat 650).
It would be silly if AC and SD upped their 600s to 650s to compete with Polaris 650 since Polaris will up that to a 700 very shortly. Will they all do it in 2026 or 2027?
Makes sense to have 900s as top of the line and 700s as the sweet spot of the market best price performance combination and have 500s as the entry level segment. A cc sled size for everyone and a price for everyone.
