Are you ready for a drag event with a different goal? Sure, the goal is still to win, but it’s also a show-off event between the sleds, dealers and aftermarket companies.
All is set for the annual Snow Week/Dyno Tech Research Shootout will start on Friday, December 7, in Woodgate, N.Y. The gates open at 9 a.m. at the White Otter Fish & Game club.
The factory sleds will come from the 600cc and Open, for top-displacement machines. The aftermarket-prepped machines will also have two categories: trail mods, which run pump gas and will use the 1000-foot mark and the Open Lake Racers that use greater than 92 octane. They will run the 660-foot length.
Stock snowmobile will run out-of-the-crate stock and then again after dealer setup. The three participating dealers are Big Moose Yamaha and Arctic Cat, Old Forge Powersports and White Lake Polaris. The dealer who has the best gains from limited setup wins the competition: the Snow Week Golden Cup. Results from this event will be posted on this site.
Trail mod/lake racer data will include speed data, build and price specs. Expect these reports to be posted on line starting December 17.
Aftermarket companies expected to attend include:
• D&D Power Sports
• Chuckaroo Motorsports
• Full Power Performance
• Excell Motorsports
• Mountain Performance
• CJ Motorsports
• JD Powersport
• Hot To Go
• Dyno Port
• Bikeman Performance
Last year, Hot To Go brought the fastest machine to the Shootout: an Edge-chassis Polaris with a 1200 triple. It went 600 feet in 6.316 seconds at 114.21 mph. It was in the lake racer class.
In the trail mod class, Top Gun Augot & Marine showed up with its Arctic Cat “F10,” which included a CPC-Cutler 1000 EFI engine with Boyesen reeds and Jaws pipes. It went 1000 feet in 9.075 seconds at 108.70 mph.
Will you be there? Who will give the best performance?
