In an online shootout between three finalists during The Polaris Design-Your-Own Graphics Contest, it was the ‘Ripped Metal’ concept submitted by Buddy Pawloski that won the favorite future Polaris graphic scheme. Consumers voted on the three different designs on the Polaris Web site.
“I’ve always ridden Polaris sleds and am very excited this happened – I’m not even an artist – I just like to sketch things!” Pawloski said. “I did this design because it was something different instead of just scallops or flames that you normally see. I put the metal underneath to show how it’s solid underneath— which Polaris sleds are – they’re bulletproof.”
“We were overwhelmed with the response to this contest and while all of the finalist’s concepts would have made great looking sleds, we’re thrilled with our customers’ choice,” said Eric Lindquist, General Manger of Polaris Snowmobiles.
The Design-Your-Own contest was launched this past spring as part of the Polaris 2006 Snow Check Select early order program. Polaris fans could download a blank outline of a new model Polaris snowmobile and were then given free reign to concept a future Polaris graphic and color scheme.
Pawloski’s winning design will become an exclusive 2007 graphic look. In addition, someone better tell him to make room in the garage – because he’s going to be the proud owner of a 2007 model snowmobile featuring his design! To top it off, Pawloski will also enjoy an all-expense paid trip for two to watch his new sled being built at Polaris’ manufacturing facility in Roseau, Minnesota.
Pawloski’s winning design will be unveiled September 10, 2005, at the annual Haydays grass drags in Columbus Township, Minnesota.
