The MIRA oval race scheduled for Escanaba, Michigan, this weekend has been postponed due to extremely warm weather in Michigan.
According to the MIRA website, MIRA President Steve McAlpine said, “We believe that the upcoming weather forecast will cause the track conditions to deteriorate to an unusable condition and we will not be able to race. It was a tough decision to cancel the race after so much work went into developing the track and organizing the event. We will work with the TLR CUP to find a make-up date. The U.P. State Fairgrounds is an outstanding venue to host this type of event, and we want the community to have a great show.”
Stay tuned for updates on the rescheduled race.
Any contestants in this year’s Snowmobile Racing Challenge can relax this weekend. The next race will be the historic 50th running of the Eagle River World Championship in Eagle River, Wis.
