Elk River, MN (January 5, 2010) – One of the Midwest’s best snocross facility keeps getting better thanks to the addition of an all new 40’x50’ structure appropriately dubbed the Motor Park Chalet. The new dual-pitch truss building features two levels of viewing, plus room for indoor vending and ample space to come in from the cold and socialize with friends.
After a severe storm dismantled the previous semi-permanent structure this past summer, ERX co-owners Chris Carlson and Todd Plaisted drew up plans for the new Motor Park Chalet with comfort and versatility steering the overall design. Positioned perfectly in front of the table-top finish line jump, the forward facing portion of the chalet features three huge glass panel garage doors joined by 7 large window panels on both the lower and upper levels.
“We wanted to create a place where families and children could come in from the cold and still enjoy the race,” said Plaisted. “The garage doors facing the track are glass from top to bottom and in the summer we can roll them up and create a large open environment for our Beatercross events.”
The upper level of the chalet features 4 individual 10’x10’ VIP rooms, each with their own user controlled audio, flat screen television and heat. The rooms are finished in tongue and groove pine from top to bottom and represent the perfect place to entertain clients during any one of the numerous events held at ERX. The spaces can also be opened up to create two 10’x20’ private areas for larger groups.
“We still have some finishing touches to complete, but the response thus far has been extremely positive,” said Chris Carlson. “The entire building is wired for audio visual and we’ve had several inquiries from businesses and corporations looking to host private events such as training seminars and product demonstrations.”
The next event at ERX Motor Park will be round 3 of the NOS Energy Drink Grassroots Snocross on January 20th. The traditional Thursday night under the lights event will be quickly followed by an ISOC Regional race weekend, January 22-23.
