Elite Motorsports Signs New Pro Snocross Rider, Top Mechanic

The Wisconsin-based Elite Motorsports team is stepping up its game a notch for the upcoming 2024-25 snocoss season. It announced today the signing of an exciting new driver for the Pro class on the Amsoil Championship Snocross circuit. It’s also bringing back a top talent for Pro Lite. And the Ski-Doo-based team has signed one of the top snowmobile mechanics in the sport.

Theo Poirier
Theo Poirier will compete in the Pro class in the Amsoil Championship Snocross circuit this coming winter for Elite Motorsports.

The team announced July 17 the signing of Quebec hotshoe Théo Poirier. He’s a somewhat familiar name to snocross insiders. Poirier ran the Pro Lite class on the big ISOC national circuit for a couple of years, where he earned a victory and other podium finishes. He finished as high as eighth (2022) in season-ending points standings. The last two seasons, he’s been focused on racing in Quebec, where he earned Pro class championships. He also competed against the ISOC Amsoil Championship Snocross pros at Valcourt, Quebec, last year, finishing as high as 10th in one moto while running as an independent against big factory-backed teams.

The other new addition to the Elite Motorsports team is race tuner extraordinaire Jayme Cheney. A former racer himself, Cheney was the man-behind-the-man when Elias Ishoel reached championship form at Boss Racing. More recently, he was with the All Finish Racing Arctic Cat effort.

An Elite source told us the team is definitely bringing back Pro Lite star Adam Ashline, who finished fifth in season points last year. The rest of the team will be announced at some point in the future.

THEO POIRIER SIGNS WITH ELITE MOTORSPORTS

Elite Motorsports is proud to announce the signing of Théo Poirier to contest the full season of ISOC Snocross in the Pro class. Théo will pilot the ever-competitive Ski-Doo 600rs snowmobile. He put in some impressive lap times and competitive races last season when he showed up at the Snocross Valcourt National as a full privateer. The team, manufacturers and industry took notice of his blazing speed and excellent fitness. We are extremely excited to get to work with Théo and get the season started.

Théo started his snocross career in 2018 with the Lebel family and has quickly rose through the ranks. In just 5 years he was racing in the Pro class and earned 2 SCMX Pro championships. His last opportunity in the USA racing was aboard an Arctic Cat in the Pro Lite division. He scored 1 win and 6 podiums. He looks to carry his career momentum right into the team and be competitive at round 1. He wants nothing more than to be a professional snowmobile racer and we are thrilled to give him the opportunity to show the world his talent.

With the teams’ tools, knowledge and desire to win, we are confident that he will be a force on the circuit weekly. Théo’s desire to train, workout and be the best person (on and off the track) he can be is the perfect fit for the ELITE Motorsports family.

“Thinking back to 2018 I could only dream of making it to the Pro class. I didn’t know it could be possible. I am super excited to join the ELITE team, they had really fast Ski-Doo’s last season. I am a hands-on rider and cannot wait to work with the team on all aspects of the snowmobile. I want to learn as much as I can during my rookie season and put in some solid results. Thank you to the entire ELITE team for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. I am so grateful.” – Théo Poirier.

Haydays is right around the corner, be sure to stop by the team’s booth! Meet the team, grab an autograph, tour the hauler and do some bench racing! Year two for the team is serving up some big moves. Stay tuned as we announce more team news shortly.
