Eagle River Derby Add Sponsors, Preps Track

Despite the recent warm weather in the Upper Midwest, things are coming along quite well for the 49th annual Eagle River World Championship Snowmobile Derby in Eagle River, Wisconsin, according to track general manager Todd Achterberg.

Crews have been throwing down water for the track for weeks, Achterberg said, and while they had to stop during the recent warm up, they are back to work this morning adding to the base. In addition, the snow making machines have been busy this fall building a pile for what will be the infield snocross course.

Also, the Derby track in recent weeks has announced a brand new sponsor, a returning sponsor and a couple of major sponsorship extension.

Today, the track announced that Amsoil has signed on for an additional three-year commitment as the official title sponsor of the event – officially the Amsoil Eagle River World Championship Snowmobile Derby.”

“We are pleased and proud to welcome Amsoil back for another three years as our title sponsor here at the Amsoil Derby Track,” Achterberg said in a press release, adding later, “We love the people at Amsoil, and the quality of their products speaks for itself.”

Also today, Achterberg confirmed to Snow Goer that Polaris Industries would be returning to the Derby Track as a sponsor after a one-year hiatus. That company had long been a mainstay at the track, not just with its sleds but also promoting its ATVs, UTVs and motorcycles at the Derby. It took a year off, but now is back in the fold.
