Arctic Cat Inc. announced it is recalling about 50,000 Firecat, Sabercat and Crossfire snowmobiles (and Sno Pros) because of potential steering problems. The snowmobiles were manufactured from May 2001 to April of this year.
Arctic Cat said the steering shaft on certain snowmobiles can fail at the steering shaft/steering arm attachment. The company said it has received 42 reports of steering problems that prompted the recall, but there have been no reports of injury to date. Owners of the machines should not ride their snowmobiles until they’ve taken them to a dealer for free repair.
