2015 Arctic Cat Updates Include TEAM Clutch For ZR 4000 RR

Arctic Cat announced today a few updates for some of its 2015 snowmobiles. These changes were in the works last spring and finalized in time for production this summer. Updates affect 2015 Arctic Cat ZR, XF and M models, but the 2015 ZR 4000 RR receives the most significant updates. Here is a list of updates the 2015 Arctic Cat snowmobiles:

TEAM Industries TSS-04 driven clutch — The 2015 ZR 4000 RR will be fitted with the TEAM Industries TSS-04 driven clutch. A release from Arctic Cat said testing showed “excellent results” on the race track, and with the clutch’s proliferation throughout snowmobile racing circles, there are many tuning components readily available. This new clutch necessitates a new driven shaft, so that has been updated, too. The 2015 ZR 4000 LXR will keep the 10.75-inch diameter Arctic Cat clutch and standard jackshaft.

Wider A-arms — The 2015 ZR 4000 RR will have wider A-arms than what was originally spec’d. Initially, the machine was to have a stance adjustable from 42 to 43 inches, but new A-arms set the ski center-to-center distance at 43.5 inches for more stability.

Trail 5 ski — Engineers opted to go with the narrower Trail 5 ski on the 2015 ZR 4000 RR, which is 5 inches wide rather than 6 inches for the originally spec’d ski. The Trail 5 ski hosts a single wear bar and has extra webbing on top for more stiffness and better handling on hard trails. Despite the front-end changes to the 2015 ZR 4000 RR, it remains within the 48-inch maximum width for some state trail systems.

2015 Arctic Cat vent
The new vent includes inner and outer ducts, along with a stainless steel screen.

New left side panel vent — Engineers designed a new left side panel vent that will increase airflow to the clutches and reduce drive belt heat. This should not only improve belt life, but clutches should perform more efficiently. This new vent will be on all 2015 ZR, XF and M models with the 6000, 8000 and 9000 Series engines. The kit will retrofit on all 2012 and newer ProCross and ProClimb models — except for those with the 7000 Series engine — with the one-piece clutch guard. Order part no. 6639-817. Retail price is $39.95.
