True Adventure Gear Tunnel Bag Review

True Adventure Gear
The True Adventure Gear Tunnel Bag is a versatile snowmobile storage accessory.

After three months on the back of our 2010 Arctic Cat F8 Sno Pro demo last season, the True Adventure Gear Tunnel Bag proved to be a good storage solution. It’s a no-frills design that’s easy to use, with two interior zippered pockets to secure valuables. Other cool features that add style and function are reflective tape on each side and a cinchable “net” on top that could hold an extra layer of clothing.

Installation options are versatile, with straps and hooks that can be mixed and matched as necessary to suit the snowmobile. For our Arctic Cat, we pulled two hooks toward the front of the sled and slipped them into a hole on each side of the running board and then wrapped the two other straps around the rear bumper and clipped the buckle. We secured the extra strap material with zip ties and wire so they wouldn’t catch wet snow as it came off the heat exchanger. The straps stayed tight all season and the bag never shifted positions no matter how rough the trail or heavy the cargo load.

After more than 1,000 miles, most of the $59.95 bag still looked fresh, maintained its shape and the zippers still pulled smoothly. The bottom edge of the bag didn’t prove as durable, as three separate, roughly 1-inch sections of the canvas material tore along the bottom edge of the foam structure – likely due to the slight vibration and rubbing against the tunnel. Unfortunately, some tunnel paint wore off under the bag, too.
