Many snowmobile clubs volunteer long hours to ensure trail systems are free of debris and offer a smooth, safe ride.

Now that the season has officially begun – and if you don’t have snow yet, have faith that you will soon – it’s important to remember how to act around trail groomers, and to teach newcomers to the sport the proper rules and etiquette to follow when riding trails.

TV 6, Fox News’ U.P. station reporting out of Munising, Michigan, is offering advice for trail riders on how to stay safe while riding this season.

Among allowing time and space for a groomer to safely let snowmobilers pass and remaining attentive at all times, riders are also to asked to mind postings within city limits.

What are some rules they may be missing, or other etiquette that you think should be followed?
