Snowmobile Gear Maker FXR Gets Attention For Its Amazing Growth

Snowmobile and motocross clothing maker FXR Racing is getting some special attention in its hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba, this week, as company founder and president Milt Reimer is up for Entrepreneur of the Year honors from the accounting firm of Ernst & Young.

The FXR success story has been told in many different ways in recent years. Last year, Reimer was the subject of radio interviews and other media coverage as his company earned a spot in the Profit 400 list. In those interviews, Reimer explained how he started out as a high school dropout found his drive while working at a powersports dealership. He literally started the FXR line out of his garage, but now the company has more than $43 million in annual sales, many outside partnerships and a record of success.

Last year at the Haydays Grass Drags & Swap Meet, Reimer told Snow Goer about how his biggest challenge have been cash flow, as the timeliness of the snowmobile industry leads to some cash crunches over the course of the year, particularly in more recent years of exponential growth.

Here is a link to today’s article in the Winnipeg Free Press announcing the Entrepreneur Of The Year honors. And here is a link to a Canadian Business article about FXR and Reimer printed last October.
