Ski-Doo snowmobiles recalled

April 30, 2010

The 2010 Ski-Doo GSX SE is part of a recall issued by BRP.
Ski-Doo has recalled some 2009 and 2010 model year snowmobiles due to a problem with the drive clutch. The recall involves 2009 and 2010 Skandic SWT V-800 and 2010 GSX 1200, GTX 1200, MX Z 1200 and Renegade 1200 snowmobiles. All of the roughly 1,500 total units affected by the recall have a four-stroke engine.

According to a release from Ski-Doo: “Due to a possible oil contamination of the drive pulley tapers during the assembly process, the drive pulley governor cup taper may start to slip and lead to a bolt breakage. This may cause debris to come out of the engine compartment at high speed and debris may act as projectiles.”

If you own one of the Ski-Doo snowmobiles listed in this recall, contact a dealer for a free repair.
